The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed a penalty of ?7,00,000 on Vajiram and Ravi IAS Study Centre LLP for misleading advertisements. The authority, headed by Chief Commissioner Smt. Nidhi Khare, found the institute guilty of deliberately concealing that a majority of successful UPSC CSE 2023 candidates it advertised, including 7 out of 8 in the top 10, had only attended a free Interview Guidance Programme. This non-disclosure was deemed a violation of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, for infringing upon a consumer's right to be informed.
In a high-level security meeting in Bhuj, Gujarat, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah directed state officials to adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards unauthorized encroachments within a 15-km radius of the international border. He emphasized that District Magistrates must strictly monitor and regularly report on demographic changes occurring in border districts, terming it a serious challenge. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is developing the Boregaon to Shahpur section of NH-753L in Madhya Pradesh under the Bharatmala Pariyojana at a cost of ?944 crore. According to provisional data from the Reserve Bank of India, India's services exports for April 2026 were valued at US$ 30.52 billion. India's foreign exchange reserves increased by US$ 2.1 billion to reach US$ 651.5 billion for the week ending May 23, 2026, according to the RBI's Weekly Statistical Supplement. This rise was primarily attributed to an increase in Foreign Currency Assets (FCA), which grew by US$ 1.8 billion to US$ 575.3 billion.
