On the 78th Chartered Accountants Day, Vice-President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan launched two digital initiatives of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI): the Peer Review Board (PRB) Web Portal and the ICAI Jan Utsav Portal. During the event in New Delhi, the Vice-President urged Chartered Accountants to support local enterprises by developing expertise on products identified under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative.

The Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) [VB-G RAM G] Act, 2025, came into force across India on July 1, 2026, providing a statutory entitlement of 125 days of guaranteed wage employment to eligible rural households. Coinciding with the rollout, the government notified revised wage rates, ensuring no daily wage is below ₹300 and increasing the national average wage by over 10% to ₹327.4 per day. An interim allocation of ₹95,692.31 crore has been released to States and UTs to support the implementation.

Union Ministers Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Shri Kiren Rijiju, along with Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu, conducted an extensive survey of flood-hit areas in the state, including Keyi Panyor district. Following the inspection, Shri Chouhan chaired a high-level review meeting in Itanagar, directing an expedited and comprehensive assessment of damage to homes, crops, and livestock for providing timely relief.

The Supreme Court of India has laid down new guidelines for the computation of the annual income of motor accident victims for the purpose of awarding compensation. The directive aims to establish a uniform and equitable framework for Motor Accident Claims Tribunals across the country, standardising the assessment process to ensure consistency in compensation.

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel launched two state-wide initiatives: the 'Namo Swachhata Abhiyan' and the 'Amritpan Abhiyan'. The former is a cleanliness campaign to enhance public hygiene and sanitation, while the latter aims to ensure the availability of safe drinking water for all citizens across the state.

Union Minister of State for Personnel, Dr. Jitendra Singh, inaugurated the 52nd Advanced Professional Programme in Public Administration (APPPA) at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) in New Delhi. In his address, Dr. Singh called for the continuous revamping of teaching curricula for civil servants and stressed the importance of faculty diversity and institutional collaboration to meet contemporary administrative challenges.

The Delhi government has digitised over 32,000 enumeration forms under its Socio-economic Information Registry (SIR) initiative as of July 1, 2026. This digitisation drive is part of a larger effort to create a robust, real-time database of residents to improve the targeting and delivery of social welfare schemes in the national capital.

The Supreme Court of India resolved an 18-year-old land acquisition dispute in Greater Noida, providing relief to 16 families. The court exempted their residential plots from acquisition, acknowledging their long-term occupation under judicial protection, while allowing the larger infrastructure project to proceed.
