The 6th Lok Samvardhan Parv was inaugurated in Dehradun, marking the first time the event has been organised in partnership with a state government under the Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS) Scheme. The five-day festival, inaugurated by Union Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju and Uttarakhand CM Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, features 150 stalls to provide a national platform for artisans. Since its inception in 2024, the festival has benefited over 550 artisans.

The Joint Committee studying the Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-Ninth Amendment) Bill, 2024, for 'One Nation, One Election' concluded its consultations in Goa. The committee, chaired by Shri P.P. Chaudhary, engaged with stakeholders including the Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker and civil society representatives. Proponents argue that simultaneous polls could yield economic savings of nearly ₹7 lakh crore and strengthen governance, with the committee developing safeguards like constructive votes of no-confidence to ensure government stability.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare launched a Monthly Webinar Series on Best Practices under the National Health Mission (NHM) on World Population Day. The initiative, chaired by NHM Mission Director Smt. Aradhana Patnaik, aims to facilitate cross-learning of healthcare innovations among States and UTs. The inaugural session, attended by over 500 officials, focused on 'Anemia, Child and Adolescent Health'.

The Department of Legal Affairs and the Bar Council of India jointly organised a National Conference to formulate a Ten-Year Perspective Action Plan for promoting legal education in regional languages. The plan aims to create a structured framework for a bilingual and progressively multilingual legal education model to enhance access to justice. A National Steering Committee will be established to oversee implementation, leveraging technology like AI-enabled translation tools.

Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah inaugurated the Jayaprakash Narayan Library in New Delhi, a modern facility with over 32,000 books and digital access to one crore e-books. During the event, Shri Shah urged the Delhi Government to formulate a plan to interconnect all city libraries and link them with schools to foster a reading culture, citing a successful model implemented in his Gandhinagar constituency.

The West Bengal state government has constituted a nine-member panel to examine the draft Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill for the state. The committee is tasked with a thorough review of the proposed legislation and its potential implications, marking the formal beginning of the state's evaluation process for a common civil code.

The Government of Odisha has directed its Crime Branch to investigate significant factual errors discovered in state-run school textbooks. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that a First Information Report (FIR) would be filed to probe a potential "conspiracy," aiming to ensure accountability and maintain the integrity of educational materials.

The Karnataka government is likely to conduct Panchayat polls in October or November 2026, according to Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Eshwar Khandre. A formal proposal will be submitted to the State Election Commission following the completion of constituency delimitation and the finalisation of the reservation matrix.
