The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has extended its ‘Clean Toilet Picture Challenge’ until June 30, 2027, to promote hygiene at highway facilities. Under the initiative, highway users who report unclean toilets via the Rajmargyatra Mobile App receive a FASTag recharge reward of Rs. 1,000. In 2026, 429 commuters have been rewarded for their participation.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has launched Operational Guidelines for the Urban Challenge Fund (UCF) to promote market-based financing for city development. With a central assistance of ₹1 lakh crore, the fund aims to make cities a bankable asset class. The Union Government has clarified that the regulation and enforcement of structural safety audits for buildings fall under the jurisdiction of States and Urban Local Bodies.
