The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results of the written part of the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2026, which was held on July 19, 2026. Qualified candidates are required to update their details and upload necessary documents on https://upsconline.nic.in within a fifteen-day window from today. The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), designated as the Nodal Authority by the Ministry of Home Affairs, will subsequently conduct the Physical Standards Tests/Physical Efficiency Tests and issue e-Admit Cards.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi chaired the 53rd PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation) meeting today, reviewing six critical infrastructure projects across the Railway, Road, and Power sectors. These projects, spanning nine states, represent a cumulative investment exceeding ₹30,000 crore. The Prime Minister underscored the necessity of viewing infrastructure projects as integrated wholes, rather than isolated sections, and called for a proactive work culture across Ministries and State Governments to ensure timely completion and quality.

Addressing the rising incidents of cyber fraud, including 'digital arrest' cases, during the 53rd PRAGATI meeting, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi called for strengthened prevention through sustained training, public awareness, and cyber-safety education. He urged for continuous and targeted public-awareness campaigns, especially for vulnerable sections like senior citizens and youth, to familiarize them with common fraud techniques and safe digital practices. The Prime Minister also stressed regular capacity-building for personnel to swiftly identify and act upon emerging cyber fraud modes.

Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Tokhan Sahu, chaired a review meeting today at Sankalp Bhawan, New Delhi, to assess the progress of the Gurugram Metro Connectivity Project. The project aims to connect Millennium City Centre, Gurugram to Cyber City, Gurugram, with a spur to Dwarka Expressway, and is being implemented by Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL). The meeting focused on expediting implementation, resolving bottlenecks, and ensuring timely progress ahead of a scheduled PRAGATI meeting.

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) organised a National Conference with Secretaries of Information and Public Relations Departments of States and Union Territories in New Delhi on August 25, 2026. Chaired by MIB Secretary Shri Chanchal Kumar, the conference aimed to strengthen Centre-State coordination and harness India’s creative economy, identified as one of the 'Saptdhara' in the Hon'ble Prime Minister's vision. Discussions focused on leveraging regional strengths, enhancing infrastructure, and promoting national platforms like WAVES 2027 and the Indian Cine Hub to boost market access and investment for creators.

During the National Conference held by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting on August 25, 2026, key deliberations included the implementation of the Right of Way (RoW) mechanism for cable operators by State Governments and the expansion of Public Service Broadcasting infrastructure. The conference also addressed the two-way integration of the Indian Cine Hub (ICH) and Film Facilitation Office (FFO) portals, alongside the adoption of a single-window ICH portal for film shooting and live event permissions. Furthermore, discussions covered the digital transition under the Press and Registration of Periodicals (PRP) Act, 2023, via the Press Sewa Portal, and capacity building for DIPR officers through IIMC training facilities.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) announced on August 25, 2026, an extension for submitting comments and counter-comments on its Consultation Paper regarding draft amendments to 'The Standards of Quality of Service of Access (Wireline and Wireless) and Broadband (Wireline and Wireless) Service Regulations, 2024'. The deadline for comments has been extended from August 26, 2026, to September 2, 2026, and for counter-comments from September 7, 2026, to September 15, 2026. This extension was granted following requests received from various industry associations and stakeholders.

The 39th National Good Governance Webinar, part of the 2026-27 series, was conducted on August 25, 2026, focusing on the theme ‘Sustainability and Replication of the Initiatives Awarded under PMA’. The webinar featured a presentation on the 'Shiksha Setu, Axom' initiative from Assam, which received the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Public Administration in 2024. Dr. Om Prakash, Commissioner & Secretary, Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Government of Assam, detailed the initiative's sustainability, while Ms. Dipika Choudhury, Inspector of School, Kamrup Metropolitan, Guwahati, Assam, discussed its implementation and scaling. Chaired by Shri Puneet Yadav, Additional Secretary, DARPG, the event saw participation from over 600 locations across India, including senior officials from State/UT Administrative Reforms Departments and District Collectors, aligning with the Prime Minister's directive from April 2022 to disseminate successful public administration practices.
