The Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) was conceived to bolster India's health system against future pandemics and public health emergencies while ensuring continuity of routine healthcare services. Under this mission, the Government of India has sanctioned 631 Critical Care Blocks (CCBs) nationwide, establishing a comprehensive network of critical-care capacity. For Andhra Pradesh, 24 CCBs and 26 Integrated Public Health Laboratories (IPHLs) have been sanctioned with an estimated investment of ₹606 crore and an allocation of ₹32.50 crore respectively, reflecting a shift towards a prepared, connected, and resilient health system.

These centers have facilitated screenings for over 42 crore people for diabetes and hypertension, 36 crore for oral cancer, and 17 crore women for breast cancer, among other services.

Dhaldas Saheb, a prominent leader of the Satnami community and elder brother of Chhattisgarh BJP minister Guru Khushwant Saheb, formally joined the Opposition Congress party on Friday, September 11, 2026. Former Rajasthan MLA Baljeet Yadav, currently incarcerated in Jaipur Central Jail in connection with an alleged scam exceeding Rs 3.72 crore involving the MLA Local Area Development Fund, has announced an indefinite hunger strike, alleging a false and politically motivated case after a mobile phone was reportedly found in his barracks on September 9. Yadav, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on February 3, 2026, following a corruption case registered by the Anti-Corruption Bureau on December 12, 2024, has written to the Rajasthan Director General of Police (DGP) seeking an impartial investigation, claiming the phone was found in a public toilet and he was in the jail hospital at the time of the alleged recovery.
