The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) announced plans to upgrade its 1033 National Highway Helpline with advanced technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), real-time location tracking, and smart emergency-response systems. This initiative, for which Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) has invited an Expression of Interest (EOI), aims to provide faster assistance, multilingual support, and improved coordination for the helpline, which currently covers over 1.46 lakh km of National Highways and receives approximately 15,000 calls daily.
